MAXIMISING

VESSEL PERFORMANCE

7

Leading professionals and experts in their fields

will share their knowledge and experiences,

providing attendees with a unique insight into latest

technologies and likely future developments.

Each Masterclass comprises a plenary session

with four high level speakers, following by a

chance for questions and networking.

Two of this year’s Masterclasses will focus on Big

Data. The first of these, on Tuesday 7

th

November,

will assess how the Internet of Things and

Blockchain can improve supply chain efficiency.

In addition, on Thursday November 9

th

, there will

be a second session, looking at how Big Data can

minimise the total cost of ownership. Speakers

confirmed so far include Alex Bausch, Blockchain

Ecosystem Network and Gerben de Boer of Van Oord.

The New Environmental Age Masterclass will

evaluate how energy management can support

European Monitoring Reporting and Verification

(MRV) compliance and save costs. This session will

take place on Wednesday 8

th

November. Already

confirmed is a programme including presentations

by Sander den Heijer, Netherlands Maritime

Technology; Teus den Beek, Wartsila; Nick Lurkin,

Royal Association of Netherlands Shipowners;

Sebastian Sala, Carnival Maritime; and Giuseppe

Stranieri, from CETENA.

The final Masterclass, in the Human Factor slot,

on Friday 10

th

November, will look at how HR can

future-proof organisations. Data driven HR will be

the topic addressed by Erik van Vulpen of Analytics

in HR while other speakers will be confirmed in the

coming weeks.

Raymond Siliakus, Exhibition Manager of Europort,

says, “These Masterclasses are a ‘must-attend’ part

of the event. In just three hours you get to learn

about the key research and development initiatives

that are going on within the industry from a select

panel of speakers chosen for their unique,

specialist knowledge.”

Each Masterclass costs €99 to attend. However,

Europort can offer a special discounted price of

€325 for those attending all four sessions, while

full-time students can benefit from a special rate of

€25 per Masterclass. Places are strictly limited to

75 per Masterclass, so it is vital to register early.

The registration for the Masterclasses is part of the

Europort 2017 registration procedure, during which

you will be asked if you are interested in attending

one of these events. This enables you to book

directly online at the same time as registering to

attend Europort 2017.

The hugely popular Masterclass programme, a joint initiative between Rotterdam Ahoy and Netherlands Maritime

Technology, is once again a key part of the Europort experience. On each day of the event an inspiring Masterclass will

cover a different industry issue, that is both topical and highly relevant for ship owners, operators and suppliers.

MAKING A

MARIMATCH

With a clear focus on innovation, the event

offers attendees the opportunity to make new

international contacts which could form the basis

for future partnerships aimed at technology

development.

After registering with the MariMatch 2017 event

at Europort, and setting out their organisational

focus and requirements regarding collaborations,

participants can schedule meetings with other

registered parties. Alternatively, they might

themselves be invited to a meeting by potential

partners. On arrival at Europort participants will

receive a schedule setting out the time and place

of each meeting.

Enterprise Europe Network, which is holding

this brokerage event in conjunction with Europort,

helps businesses innovate and grow on an

international scale. It is the world’s largest support

network for small and medium-sized enterprises

(SMEs) with international ambitions, and is active

in more than 60 countries worldwide.

MariMatch 2017, organised by the Enterprise Europe Network, is an international

‘matchmaking’ event for companies and organisations active in the maritime

sector, who are looking for new business opportunities or research partners.
